The Union Cupboard on Wednesday permitted a one-time fee of ₹5.5 lakh as a resettlement bundle for the 5,300 displaced households who had come from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and initially settled exterior Jammu and Kashmir however later relocated to the State.
A “historical wrong” has been corrected by the federal government, Union minister Prakash Javadekar mentioned whereas briefing reporters after the Cupboard assembly.
In 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had introduced the resettlement bundle for these PoK households who had settled in Jammu and Kashmir after the Partition on separate events.
The households which had come from PoK however had settled exterior Jammu and Kashmir have been disregarded of the bundle, Mr. Javadekar mentioned.
These households had later resettled in Jammu and Kashmir.
